The Town of Tecumseh has proposed constructing a 2.4 Kilometer long by 2.4-meter wide trail on the south side of Riverside Drive, from the Windsor-Tecumseh boder west of Lesperance, to Lakewood Park. It our opinion, that by design, Riverside Drive would be unsafe for a two-directional muli-use alternative transportation route therefore other options must be considered.

RethinkTheTrail is supportive of building effective, safe, and well-designed alternative modes of transportation in our community and throughout the Town of Tecumseh. In fact, connectivity is very important to our group. To be very clear, we are not against active transportation modes.

ReThink The Trail is a grassroots movement made up of regular citizens with a common vision, who care deeply about our community. We are united in working with the Town of Tecumseh, our neighbours, and others to create alternative transportation systems that fit our community, are accessible, safe, have minimal environmental impact and are financially responsible.
ReThink The Trail's history is rooted in our community. Our group came together in 2017, after the Riverside Trail was introduced by the Town of Tecumseh. Since that moment our movement has built momentum, strength, knowledge and cultivated purposeful relationships.

ReThink The Trail's mission is simple. We are united by a common goal, to build a community full of opportunity and hope, one that is safe, one that optimizes our Town's landscape to provide the best alternative transportation systems, one that supports active healthy living for everyone in our community.
