HERE'S THE ISSUE

The Town of Tecumseh has proposed constructing a 2.4 Kilometer long by 2.4-meter wide trail on the south side of Riverside Drive, from the Windsor-Tecumseh boder  west of Lesperance, to Lakewood Park. It  our opinion, that by design, Riverside Drive  would be unsafe for a two-directional muli-use alternative transportation route  therefore other options must be considered.

you have to either change your plan or change your location."

What we support

RethinkTheTrail is supportive of building effective, safe, and well-designed alternative modes of transportation in our community and throughout the Town of Tecumseh.  In fact, connectivity is very important to our group.  To be very clear, we are not against active transportation modes.

  • We support the County Wide Active Transportation System (CWATS) and its mandate to link seven Essex County municipalities with an 800-kilometer active transportation network.
  • We support the best practices published by the Province of Ontario in its' CycleON Action Plan 1.0 and 2.0 (2018).
  • We support the best practices, standards, and policies published by the Ontario Traffic Council and its Traffic Manual Book 18.
